Day 215: Film screening
Our friend Ashish screened his first feature-length film Shadows Formless at the Whitney tonight. We also got to see his short film before the feature. Here he is introducing the film.

Day 214: Rain, rain...
...please go away! It has been absolutely pouring for two days straight now. We've got flood warnings in effect for most of the state. I can't wait for it to stop.

Day 212: Artist
We were out driving and saw this person working on this building...we weren't sure if he was doing this legally or illegally, although you'd think if one was out in broad daylight on a Sunday morning, one wasn't too worried about getting caught. Here he is reviewing his progress.

Day 211: Profile
A few people have been bugging me for pregnancy photos...well, here is a blurry profile shot in silhouette.

Day 210: Juggling show
The Yale juggling group put on a show that we went to see. It was actually not just a performance show but a play they had written loosely based on High School Musical. This is the group of 'cool kids' practicing.

Day 209: Spinach pizza
I passed my glucose test! Yay! But...I appear to have low iron. So I now have to take an iron supplement and try to get as much through my diet as possible. I thought spinach pizza for dinner would be a step in the right direction.

Day 208: Mommy parking
We went to our local baby store to pick up the little guy's car seat. I was hesitant to buy it so early (early to me, that is) but I had a 20% off coupon, so my cheapness won out over my nerves. Although there were plenty of parking spaces, I made S park in the 'expectant moms' parking just for fun.

Day 206: Icky
I had to take the horrid gestational diabetes test this morning. It involved drinking this terribly sweet liquid within five minutes, waiting for an hour, and then getting my blood drawn. It wasn't as bad as I had anticipated, but it wasn't something I'd like to repeat any time soon. Oh well, let's all just hope I pass.

Day 203: TRAFFIC
I had the great idea of driving to PA after work. It was not fun. This was the traffic on the ramp of the George Washington Bridge.

Day 202: Construction site
This is the vacant lot across the street from our building. It had sat empty for nearly the entire year since I started my job (and longer before that), but they have finally started working. We checked it out today on our walk.

Day 199: Retro Cheerios
When we took our last trip to Target, I got suckered in to getting this box of Cheerios, mostly because of its retro packaging.

Day 198: Gift from Robyn
I met my friend Robyn today up in West Hartford for lunch, and I stupidly forgot my camera. But she gave me this lovely gift for baby that I was able to photograph when I returned home. Isn't this a great first book for baby's library?

Day 197: Accident
On the way to my salon appointment, I noticed a police car come up behind me with its lights flashing. Little did I know it was heading to this accident. I maneuvered around it and parked in the lot, but by the time I came back, I was stuck in the lot because this tow truck had blocked the exit so it could load up one of the cars. It didn't take too long for it to be cleared.

Day 196: Sorting
I took the first step in starting my cross stitch today...sorted out the thread by colors. Maybe I'll actually start stitching this week?

Day 195: On the way home
Spoke at the conference; all went well. Took off around 3PM and was on the way to New Haven. It's always reassuring to see these signs because I generally feel just slightly lost when I'm trying to find my way back from Manhattan.

Day 194: Grand Central
I had to go to NYC to speak at a conference. This was the view from my hotel room...Grand Central Terminal at night.

Day 193: Midweek dinner party
I was invited to dinner at Mokshay and Marylea's house. A number of friends were there as well. We had some really nice Konkani food and a lovely lemon meringue pie that Marylea made. Here are the hosts.

Day 192: O happy day!
I gave in and signed up for parking at my office. No more taking the shuttle for me! Since S is gone for 2 weeks, we decided that it would be safer if I wasn't wandering the streets by myself, waiting for the bus after dark. Oh, and I'm pregnant, too. This little keycard gets me in and out.

Day 191: The boredom begins
Now that S is gone for 2 weeks and 1 day (not that I'm counting or anything), I've got to spend my time doing something every weekend and evening. I took out four seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm from the film center. I've already watched Seasons 1 and 2. Oops. Must pace myself a bit better.

Day 190: Farewell
I saw S and Y off at the airport at the start of their long trip to the Maldives. They were very well prepared, thanks to our last day of shopping and packing. I hope they have a great trip!

Day 189: Cheese truck!
The cheese truck is up and running, so Mark and I decided to check it out. We each got a grilled cheese and tomato soup. Yummy! New Haven now has a cupcake truck, a cheese truck, and a soup truck!

Day 188: SIL arrives and we go to a party
My sister-in-law arrived today from the west coast via Chicago. We went to dinner, and then we were troopers and made it out to Tariq's party (at 9 PM, no less). Here my sister-in-law is showing Tariq and someone (didn't get her name!) photos on her camera.
