Day 257: Special delivery
I've been getting lots of things delivered every day...I've been trying to finish up the shopping for the little guy while reducing my trips to random stores. One thing I really wanted to get for him (and us) was this adorable book called "The Little Book of Hindu Deities" by Sanjay Patel. It's just the sweetest thing. I love it! Here is an illustration of Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh and Kartikeya.

Day 198: Gift from Robyn
I met my friend Robyn today up in West Hartford for lunch, and I stupidly forgot my camera. But she gave me this lovely gift for baby that I was able to photograph when I returned home. Isn't this a great first book for baby's library?

Day 175: What I'm reading
I bought this at the Montague Book Mill. I tried reading A Room With a View, but I couldn't really get in to it. So I'm now reading Howards End.

Day 158: Old book
I requested a number of the books that Persephone has republished from the library, and some of them that have come in are the Persephone editions that Yale has purchased. But some of them are the original books published back in the early 20th century, such as this one that came out in 1933. I'm always a bit nervous to be trusted with such old books.

Day 154: Persephone
A number of the books I've got out from the library are Persephone books. Persephone Books is a London-based publisher that focuses on 20th century classics usually written by female authors. I was introduced to Persephone by the lovely Helen, and I'm now hooked. Inside the front and back covers of each Persephone book is a gorgeous endpaper. This is from my current read, Hostages to Fortune.

Day 152: Lovely books
Okay, this might be too many books even for me! I'm very lucky to have the Yale library at my disposal. I am making my way through this glorious stack. So many to choose from!

Day 144: I've joined the crowd
And finally read Twilight. I thought it was pretty good, but not the end-all-be-all that much of the hype makes it out to be. I'll read the next one, but I'm not in a huge hurry. My niece lent me this copy and said I can have New Moon when she's done with it.

Day 132: My new bookcase
Recently half of our office moved to another building, leaving behind some of their furniture. The building was meant to put it into storage, but they haven't yet, so yesterday we looked around at what was left. I decided this bookcase would be perfect in my office and I was right. It fits right in, so much so that my boss didn't even know what had changed other than my desk looked a little cleaner!

Day 25: Hidden courtyard
We stopped off at both libraries today to return some books (I only checked more out from the public library in an unusual show of restraint) and the doors were open to this hidden courtyard at Sterling (Yale's library). I had no idea it was there (S did, of course) and we walked out to take a look. It's a lovely little place.
